Summer Therapeutic Day Program

June 1-August 4 2009 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
We will be focusing on the relationship between Self Esteem, Anger Management, and Health / Nutrition this season.
Each day will consist of one hour of group therapy, followed by a relevant community outing. We will pick up and drop your child off at your home each day. Each outing will have a purpose and will allow your child to learn new behavior management skills in a fun, structured environment.

Therapeutic Ropes Course

Ropes course programs are designed to meet a number of behavioral, educational, developmental, and recreational goals. Ropes courses consist of a series of real and imaginary obstacles designed to challenge groups and individuals to work together to accomplish a task. Kids will learn that with focus and determination, they can overcome difficult obstacles. Ropes courses teach important life skills that kids can benefit from such as; focus, teamwork, listening skills, self-esteem, cooperation, ability to follow/give instructions, decision making, self confidence, trust, goal setting, cohesion, positive risk taking and encourages participants to confront their personal fears and anxieties. Ropes courses can be used to bond and create trust and communication amongst family members. San Tan Behavioral Health Services will be working with Friendly Pines, in Prescott Arizona to offer therapeutic low ropes courses to children, adolescents, and families. Low ropes courses are designed for individuals of all ages, shapes, and sizes. San Tan Behavioral Health Services will provide transportation to the course, as well as a brief therapeutic group before the course and a process group after. Kids and adolescents can be referred, as well as families. Small groups will be taken, so that services can be individualized to meet the child and/or families specific therapeutic goals.
