Therapeutic Weekend Program

A client was referred into the therapeutic weekend program so that he could deal specifically with anger management issues. The client had been subjected to various forms of violence at an early age and consequently, he had been dealing with anger management issues most of his adolescent life.

Upon referral into the program, the client immediately began to grasp the concepts and mechanisms he and other clients were being taught in the therapeutic weekend group setting. The client soon became the first to volunteer for activities and the first to obey menial directives such as cleaning up toys, brushing teeth, putting a seat belt on and other such instructions that can often be difficult for adolescents dealing with behavioral issues. Not only has the client learned how to control his own anger outbursts, he has become instrumental in helping other clients that participate in the program with him to do the same.
